Job Summary:
The Manager, Business Incentives Group (BIG) at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is responsible for helping clients identify, document, and support tax positions related to this specialty’s area of tax law upon examination and at appeals. In this role, the STS BIG Manager will assist with developing and driving related business development, process improvement, and team-building initiatives.
Job Duties:
- Conduct thorough research on identified topics and prepare effective research memos for projects and transactions
- Ensure clients comply with applicable authorities and identify options for minimizing tax and reporting burdens
- Develop and implement solutions to provide maximum tax benefits for clients
- Represent clients before tax authorities and respond to inquiries regarding BIG tax issues
- Stay informed of new developments and identify effective approaches to optimize tax positions
- Understand and apply industry and firm standards for ASC 740-10
- Develop new ideas and strategies to advance the position of clients and the firm
- Act as supervisor for STS BIG Senior Associates and Associates, providing training and evaluations
- Act as Career Advisor to STS BIG Senior Associates and Associates
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, tax, or finance, with a Masters or . preferred
- Five or more years of prior experience, with prior experience in BIG tax consulting preferred
- CPA certification and Enrolled Agent status preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and tax-related software and research databases
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment, managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines
- Capacity to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues
- Executive presence and ability to act as primary ,000, with a similar range for specific locations like NYC, Washington DC, and Denver.
