The ideal candidate will have at least three years of insurance defense experience in heavy trucking and cargo and freight carriers. This full-time position requires a Texas Bar Admission and strong writing and analytical skills. The successful candidate will also have the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and work independently as well as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
• Draft and respond to discovery and initial pleadings
• Draft and argue motions
• Take and defend depositions
• Represent clients in the defense of the trucking industry
• Handle matters for freight carriers, transportation brokers, truck insurers, public entities, school bus operators, long and short haul truckers, and waste management groups
• Deal with a broad variety of issues in the industry, including negligent hiring and retention, hours of service, Engine Control Module (ECM) data, messaging and positioning data, DOT compliance, and accident reconstruction
• Provide excellent case results for clients
