Counsel - Employment: A position that provides legal counsel and guidance on employment law and human resources matters for a global company. This role involves working closely with various teams and external counsel to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and guidance to the company and its business units on employment law and HR matters
- Conduct legal research and analysis on employment law issues
- Handle complaints and litigation related to employment
- Drive process and program improvements
- Draft, review, and negotiate agreements and policies related to employment
- Stay updated on legal developments and advise the company on necessary adjustments
- Conduct training and workshops on employment law
- Assist with employment matters during M&A activities
- Offer practical and strategic counsel to executives and colleagues on employee-related matters
Qualifications:
- Law degree and admission to practice in the US or Canada
- 6+ years of experience in labor and employment law
- Extensive knowledge of US employment laws and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and provide business-oriented legal advice
- Experience in a global organization preferred
