Job Title: Manager - Tax Technology & Transformation - Indirect Tax
Job Responsibilities:
- Assist client tax departments in achieving peak efficiency and productivity, enhancing their ability to identify tax-saving opportunities.
- Facilitate the transfer of tax decision-making control from transaction processing personnel and external vendors to tax specialists within client tax departments.
- Define solutions, coordinate technical resources, and deliver products that meet client goals and tax requirements.
- Lead teams, mentor counselees, and manage client-serving business.
- Document and review current state tax processes and controls to identify enhancement opportunities.
- Support the development of business cases to justify tax process enhancement solutions.
- Provide support during the indirect tax software/vendor selection process.
- Document tax data requirements and implement automated indirect tax calculation and compliance solutions.
- Support the development of data analytics solutions focused on indirect tax.
- Assist in the implementation of global digital tax reporting solutions.
Education and Experience Information:
- Undergraduate emphasis in accounting with approximately 6 years of related work experience in indirect tax process improvement or equivalent experience in business or industry. Alternatively, a master's degree with approximately 4 years of related work experience is preferred.
- Approved technical certification, CPA license, or membership to state Bar is required, or progress towards attaining them is necessary.
- Preferred experience in Indirect tax (Sales/Use Tax, VAT) and/or corporate indirect tax compliance.
- Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
- Relevant experience in one or more of the following specialty areas:
- Indirect tax software products such as Vertex, ONESOURCE (formerly Sabrix), Avalara.
- ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, etc., and procurement systems such as Ariba, Coupa, etc.
- Tax process and operational assessments.
Salary Information:
- Competitive salary.
- The base salary range for this job across the US is $124,200 to $227,800.
- The salary range for the New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento) is $149,100 to $258,800.
- Individual salaries within these ranges are determined by various factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
