RAICES is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency that promotes justice by providing free and low-cost legal services to underserved immigrant children, families, and refugees. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Staff Attorney to join our Released Children's Program in the DFW area. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctor degree and a deep commitment to advocating for immigrant rights. This is a full-time position with a starting salary range of $70, - $83,, commensurate with experience. The Staff Attorney will be responsible for representing individuals seeking immigration benefits and relief under the Immigration and Nationality Act. This position also requires travel between our Dallas and Ft. Worth office locations, with up to 50% travel expected. Relocation assistance may be provided for candidates willing to relocate to Texas.

Responsibilities of the Staff Attorney

- Provide direct representation to individuals seeking immigration benefits and relief.
- Conduct thorough immigration screenings and explain available options and processes.
- Coordinate with other departments to provide additional client services.
- Ensure accurate and timely case data entry.
- Contribute to grant reporting and supervise assigned non-legal staff.
- Represent RAICES in community presentations and outreach events.
- Provide pro se assistance to prospective clients.

Qualifications

- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Current bar membership in good standing within the United States.
- Barred in Texas is preferred, but not required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) fluency may be required for certain grants.
- Able to pass a Federal Background Check.
- 0-2 years of experience in immigration, family, or criminal law preferred.
- Must align with RAICES' mission, vision, and values.
- Able to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
