The position is available in two locations: Phoenix, Arizona and Washington, DC. This role reports to the Vice President & General Counsel for Electronic Solutions, Services & Connectivity, and Licensing. The General Counsel will work closely with the Strategic Licensing team to develop licensing opportunities, review and negotiate agreements, and provide legal guidance and support for strategic partnerships. This position is responsible for implementing legal strategies to protect the business and mitigate risks, as well as leading key initiatives to drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have a Juris Doctorate from a nationally recognized law school, membership in a State Bar, and at least five years of legal experience in mergers and acquisitions.

Experience:
Juris Doctorate from a nationally recognized law school.
Membership in a State Bar.
Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house environment in mergers and acquisitions.
Experience in licensing and intellectual property related transactions is preferred.

Responsibilities:
- Develop licensing opportunities and provide legal counsel and support for the Aerospace Technologies Strategic Licensing team
- Review, negotiate, and draft licensing agreements and provide interpretations of contract language
- Review, negotiate, and draft strategic partnership agreements
- Provide leadership, support, and guidance to contracts team for Electronic Solutions and Strategic Licensing
- Settle disputes with customers, licensees, and partners
- Implement legal strategies for growth and risk mitigation
- Support due diligence, transactional negotiation, and integration processes for mergers and acquisitions
- Lead key initiatives to drive business growth
- Serve as the focal point for working capital issues
- Must be willing to travel

Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate from a nationally recognized law school
- Membership in a State Bar
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience in a law firm and/or in-house environment in mergers and acquisitions
- Experience in licensing and intellectual property related transactions preferred
- Strong business acumen and ability to learn complex technologies
- Proven leader with ability to influence and lead at all levels of the corporation
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
