Paralegal, Finance & Restructuring Duties: Conduct title and survey review, working with title companies, surveyors, lenders, and landlords. Assist with and coordinate loan closings, including assembling final forms of agreements and preparing and distributing closing volumes, desk sets, and CDs. Coordinate lien searches, documentation, and filings related to a variety of statements and proceedings, including UCC and EFS financial statements. Prepare initial drafts of real estate documents, including mortgages/deeds of trusts, amendments, and releases. Search Secretary of State sites for good standing, authority to do business, and similar records. Prepare initial drafts of general financing documents. Organize documents and other materials required in connection with finance and restructuring transactions. Ad hoc projects and duties, as assigned.
Requirements: Four-year degree and paralegal certificate strongly preferred; applicable work experience may be considered in lieu of some schooling. Previous real estate experience required; finance and restructuring and corporate experience preferred. Previous time-entry experience preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft applications and document management systems required. Energetic, organized, detail-oriented, and disciplined with the willingness to work hard. Ability to work well independently and as part of a team, through effective communication strategies. Ability to manage workflow and work under tight deadlines and other time constraints, with competing and shifting priorities. Ability to bill 1550 hours annually towards the firms paralegal billing expectation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Positive and professional demeanor.
