We are seeking a Paralegal for our Civil Rights practice! In this role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced attorneys in helping individuals whose civil liberties have been infringed upon or employment rights violated. As a key member of our legal team, you will play a crucial role in preparing documents, assisting with case management, and supporting our mission to promote equality and justice for all. Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys in all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial
- Manage litigation document database, review and analyze documents and deposition testimony
- Work with clients and vendors to collect electronically stored information, documents, and other evidence
- Draft discovery answers and witness declarations, locate and prepare exhibits, request and track records
- Locate, contact, and interview witnesses, set up and run presentation software and other technology at trial
- Perform various administrative tasks as required
Required Skills:
- Smart, hardworking, and detail-oriented
- Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Organizational skills and proficiency in Excel and Word
- Familiarity with sources of electronically stored information and database searches
- Interest in civil rights or employment law issues and ability to follow written instructions
Experience/Education (a plus but not required):
- Bachelor’s degree, Associate’s degree in paralegal studies, or Paralegal certificate
- Paralegal experience in litigation, especially plaintiff-side
- Familiarity with civil rules, discovery processes, and legal terminology
- Trial preparation and e-filing experience
- Familiarity with NextPoint or other e-discovery database
We are open to a hybrid work schedule, three quarter time or full-time, and ask that upon hire, you provide proof of eligibility to work in the US and full COVID vaccination status.
Salary: $52,000 - $70,000 annually, pro-rated for less than full-time schedule, depending on qualifications and experience
