The Senior Litigation Counsel II role at Seagate is a remote position, open to qualified candidates located in various states within the US. The role requires a Juris Doctorate and a minimum of 8+ years of experience in legal practice, with a focus on litigation. The individual in this role will be responsible for managing complex litigation, disputes, and investigations across multiple jurisdictions and legal contexts. They will also provide proactive legal counsel to business partners and the legal team, and collaborate with a cross-functional team of legal professionals to deliver comprehensive legal services.
This is a full-time position with a salary range of $137, to $200,, based on location, skills, experience, and education. The role also offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, 401(k), and paid time off, including 16 weeks of paid parental leave.
The Senior Litigation Counsel II will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic and diverse legal team at Seagate, a global technology company. They will handle day-to-day issues such as responses to subpoenas, third-party demands, and commercial disputes, while also formulating and executing resolution strategies that align with corporate objectives and fiscal parameters.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage complex litigation, disputes, and investigations in areas such as intellectual property, licensing, contracts, class actions, antitrust, trade regulation, securities, insurance, data privacy, and cybersecurity and AI issues.
- Provide proactive legal counsel to business partners and the legal team to mitigate potential risks and foster compliance.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team of legal professionals, paralegals, and external advisors to deliver comprehensive legal services.
- Understand Seagate's business and have a willingness to dive into the technology and tools.
- Formulate and execute resolution strategies that prioritize Seagate's interests, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and fiscal parameters.
- Handle day-to-day issues such as responses to subpoenas, third-party demands, indemnification requests, ethics inquiries, data exfiltration, and commercial disputes.
Key Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate and a minimum of 8+ years of experience in legal practice at a law firm focusing on litigation, as well as in-house legal department experience.
- Active bar membership, with a preference for licensure in Colorado or Minnesota.
- Extensive experience representing technology companies with a robust foundation in litigation and dispute resolution across jurisdictions and legal contexts.
- Expertise in investigation and regulatory compliance is highly desirable.
- Creative thinker with demonstrated expertise in developing innovative legal strategies, challenging conventional practices, fostering collaboration, and delivering impactful results.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills with the ability to address executive leadership confidently, even on short notice.
- Highly organized, resilient professional capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects without compromising quality or integrity.

Location and Travel:
- This is a remote position open to qualified candidates located in various states within the US, including AL, AZ, CO, CT, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NM, NY, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI, and WY.
- Up to 10% travel may be required for this role.
Salary and Benefits:
- The estimated base salary range for this position is $137, - $200,, based on location, skills, experience, and education.
