Job Title: Employment Paralegal
Job Responsibilities:
The Employment Paralegal at the law firm is responsible for supporting attorneys in a variety of litigation tasks. Key duties include:
- Assisting attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and meetings by organizing case files and documentation.
- Conducting thorough legal research and analysis on relevant laws, regulations, and case precedents to support case strategies.
- Reviewing and analyzing documents to ensure they are relevant and comply with legal standards.
- Drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, contracts, and discovery requests, to aid in the litigation process.
- Managing case files using PCLaw software, ensuring that all information is kept up-to-date and easily accessible.
- Interviewing clients and witnesses to gather pertinent information necessary for case development.
- Coordinating with external parties such as courts, opposing counsel, and clients regarding case developments to facilitate smooth communication.
- Maintaining an organized filing system for all case-related documents, both electronic and physical, to ensure efficient retrieval and management of information.
Education and Experience Information:
The role requires:
- Proven experience as a paralegal or in a similar legal support role, demonstrating a strong understanding of litigation processes and procedures.
- Proficiency in document review and legal drafting skills to effectively support attorneys.
- Familiarity with securities law is preferred but not mandatory.
- Excellent research skills with the ability to analyze complex legal issues effectively.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to ensure clear and professional interactions.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment to achieve common goals.
Preferred experience in employment law is five years.
Salary Information:
The position offers a pay rate of per hour, with the expected work hours ranging from 20 to 25 hours per week. The role is part-time and remote, allowing for flexible scheduling where candidates can choose their own hours. The salary is set at per hour, as estimated by the employer.
