H2: Job Duties
- Assist in providing tax compliance and consulting services to BDO's Alternative Investments clients
- Ensure clients and self comply with all applicable authorities and minimize tax and reporting burdens
- Team with partners, managers, tax seniors, and associates to complete projects
- Deliver high quality federal, state, and international tax compliance services
- Manage complex engagements with a team of tax professionals
- Build and manage client relationships and develop new clients and opportunities
- Identify, develop, recommend, and implement efficient tax strategies
- Other duties as required
H2: Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manage teams of managers, tax seniors, and associates
H2: Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics required; Master's in Accountancy or Taxation preferred
- 8 or more years of prior relevant tax experience and/or public accounting, private industry accounting, or consulting/professional services experience required
- Prior supervisory experience required
- Financial Services industry experience supporting Alternative Investment funds preferred
- Proficiency in the taxation of partnerships preferred
- CPA certification, Attorney (admitted to practice in a . jurisdiction), or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (or the equivalent) required
- Possession of other professional degrees or certifications applicable to role preferred
- CFP or Masters in Tax preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools, tax research databases, and tax compliance process software preferred
- Superior verbal and written communication skills
- Strong analytical, research, and critical thinking skills, as well as decision-making skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and effectively delegate work as needed
- Ability to develop and manage a team of tax professionals
- Ability to compose written tax advice and maintain client relationships
- Executive presence and ability to act as primary client contact for preparation and presentation of issues and resolutions to clients

Individual salaries offered to candidates are determined after consideration of various factors, including qualifications, experience, skills, and geography. Salary ranges for this position in different locations are as follows:
- California: $146,000 - $200,000
- Colorado: $120,000 - $185,000
- Illinois: $140,000 - $190,000
- Maryland: $152,000 - $188,000
- Minnesota: $130,000 - $190,000
- NYC/Long Island/Westchester: $175,000 - $205,000
- Washington: $150,000 - $200,000
- Washington DC: $156,000 - $200,000
