Job Title: Manager - Tax Technology & Transformation - Indirect Tax
Job Responsibilities:
The Manager in Tax Technology & Transformation for Indirect Tax at the company is responsible for helping client tax departments operate efficiently, enhancing their productivity, and positioning them to capitalize on tax-saving opportunities. This role involves transferring control of tax decision-making from transaction processing personnel and outside vendors to the tax specialists within the client's tax department. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a team, mentoring counselees, and managing client-serving business
- Documenting and reviewing current state tax processes and controls to identify improvement opportunities
- Supporting the development of a business case for tax process enhancements
- Assisting in the indirect tax software/vendor selection process
- Documenting tax data requirements
- Implementing automated indirect tax calculation and compliance solutions
- Developing data analytics solutions focused on indirect tax
- Supporting the implementation of global digital tax reporting solutions
Education and Experience Information:
To qualify for this role, candidates must have:
- An undergraduate emphasis in accounting with approximately six years of related work experience in indirect tax process improvement or equivalent business or industry experience. Alternatively, a master's degree with approximately four years of related work experience is preferred.
- An approved technical certification, CPA license, or membership to a state Bar, or be in progress to attain these credentials.
- Preferred experience in indirect tax (Sales/Use Tax, VAT) and/or corporate indirect tax compliance.
- Excellent managerial, leadership, organizational, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
- Relevant experience in one or more specialty areas, such as indirect tax software products (., Vertex, ONESOURCE, Avalara), ERP systems (., SAP, Oracle), procurement systems (., Ariba, Coupa), and tax process and operational assessments.
Salary Information:
The base salary range for this position in all geographic locations in the US is $124,200 to $227,800. In the New York City Metro Area, Washington State, and California (excluding Sacramento), the range is $149,100 to $258,800. Individual salaries within these ranges are determined based on a variety of factors, including education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography.
