If you have 8 or more years of legal experience, you may be considered for the Senior Staff Attorney position. Responsibilities:

- Manage all aspects of litigation and litigation-related advocacy, including case development, legal research, client counseling, motions practice, discovery, policy advocacy, and media advocacy.
- Collaborate with other program departments to ensure that litigation supports and leverages the work of other teams.
- Represent IRAP in external relationships with other advocates, pro bono firms, media, and donors.
- Contribute to the organization by participating in hiring committees, cross-departmental task forces, and providing feedback on organization-wide issues.

Requirements - Qualifications:

- Law degree and license to practice law in the .
- 4 or more years of relevant legal experience, including federal court litigation experience.
- Prior experience working with marginalized and/or displaced communities preferred.
- Commitment to teamwork and centering displaced people and equity principles in work.
- Excellent communication skills in English, additional languages a plus.
- Familiarity with immigration law a plus.

Job-related Requirements:

- Position based in New York City, but Washington DC-based and remote work within the United States are also possible.
- Must be located within commuting distance to mailing and printing facilities and an office supply store.
- Available to work during East Coast working hours.
- Travel as needed to locations where IRAP files litigation.
- Hybrid in-person/remote schedule available for NYC and DC office staff.

Salary Information:

- Compensation based on years of experience, education, and internal equity.
- Step scale based on years of relevant litigation legal work experience, education, and internal equity.
- Salary range starts at $87,888 for an attorney with four years of relevant litigation experience.
- Attorneys with nine years of relevant experience will be paid $105,009, subject to a collective bargaining agreement.
