Job Description:
The Information Governance Risk and Compliance Analyst at **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. is responsible for managing and ensuring compliance with laws, regulations, and policies related to information governance. This position involves understanding and maintaining policies and procedures to protect and manage information across the firm. The Analyst will work on product related to Client Transfers, which includes on-boarding and off-boarding attorneys and clients. This role also involves managing electronically stored information (ESI) and utilizing technology systems for information governance. The Analyst will report to the Information Governance Manager.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Understand and articulate the Firm's Information Governance Policy to stakeholders, including attorneys, paralegals, and staff members
- Resolve inquiries related to Information Governance policies and procedures
- Coordinate the transfer and collection of responsive materials for attorney departures, lateral acquisitions, legal holds, and client transfers
- Transfer electronic records to and from the Firm's Document Management System and other repositories
- Enforce compliance with ethical and regulatory requirements for managing sensitive data
- Provide input on technology solutions and workflows
- Ensure accurate import and classification of electronic data and metadata into client/matter workspaces
- Document and classify outbound digital record transfers for due diligence tracking
- Develop positive relationships with attorneys to aid in their transition to or from the Firm
- Utilize FTP server technology, security and encryption controls, metadata structure, database reporting, and critical system dependencies
- Collaborate with personnel from Legal and Business Operations
- Assist in developing and implementing best practices related to technology and workflow processes
- Develop and implement information governance compliance procedures, documentation, educational materials, and internal controls in accordance with industry standards
- Coordinate security measures for information in workspaces and folders within Information Governance systems
- Participate in special projects as assigned
Job Specifications:
Required Education & Experience:
- At least two (2) years of related work experience or Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
Preferred Experience:
- Law firm experience
- Document Management System experience
- Knowledge of Prosperoware Milan and ServiceNow
