Responsibilities of Consumer Defense Attorneys:
- Defend consumer law cases in federal and state courts, with a focus on class actions
- Handle all stages of litigation, from initial information gathering to trials
- Work with senior attorneys and partners to develop action plans and strategies
- Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel
- Coordinate with local counsel and manage cases with insurance risk managers
Requirements:
- JD Degree from an ABA-approved law school
- Top 1/2 of law school class, law review, and/or moot court experience preferred
- Consumer defense experience is a plus, but not required; insurance coverage experience helpful
- Licensure in more than one state and federal court admissions helpful
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and comfortable in a paperless environment
- Ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload
- Strong analytical skills and ability to develop strategy
- Independent and highly motivated
- Excellent research, writing, and communication skills

We are looking for experienced attorneys to join our Consumer Defense Section, which is overseen by Bryan Shartle and Dayle Van Hoose, with guidance from David Israel.
As a Consumer Defense Attorney, you will be responsible for defending consumer law cases in federal and state courts throughout the United States, with a special focus on handling class actions. You will handle all stages of litigation, from initial information gathering to trials, and work with senior attorneys and partners to develop action plans and strategies. You will also have the opportunity to directly engage with clients and opposing counsel, coordinate with local counsel, and manage cases with insurance risk managers.
To be considered for this position, you must have a JD Degree from an ABA-approved law school and be in the top 1/2 of your law school class, have law review experience, and/or moot court experience. Previous consumer defense experience is preferred, but not required, and insurance coverage experience is helpful. Licensure in more than one state and federal court admissions is also beneficial. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products and comfort working in a paperless environment is required. You must also have the ability to manage and prioritize a large caseload, analyze cases, and develop strategy.
