Overview:
GBLS is seeking a Senior Attorney for its Elder, Health and Disability Unit (EHD). This permanent position requires an experienced attorney with a strong commitment to social justice and expertise in housing law and administrative appeals. The Senior Attorney will supervise the Elder Law Project within EHD, providing legal services to elders in the areas of housing (50%) and health access (50%). Responsibilities:
- Supervise attorneys and paralegals within the Elder Law Project
- Provide legal services to elders in housing (50%) and health access (50%) cases
- Represent elder tenants facing eviction from subsidized housing in local district and housing courts
- Assist with cases involving access to elder support services and Section 8 terminations
- Handle health access cases, including waiver programs, MassHealth terminations, and nursing home discharges
- Conduct administrative advocacy, legislative work, and outreach presentations on housing and public benefits issues
- Supervise students and new attorneys as needed

Qualifications:
- Admission to or comity with the Massachusetts Bar
- 6-10 years of legal experience
- Strong commitment to social justice
- Expertise in housing law and administrative appeals
- Fluency in Spanish or Haitian/Creole is a plus
