RSM is seeking a Tax Manager to join our Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Tax group in San Francisco. This is a full-time position with significant advancement opportunities within a rapidly growing consulting practice. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of federal tax experience with mergers and acquisitions, as well as a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field. A CPA, JD, or EA is required for this role.

As a Tax Manager in our M&A practice, you will work as part of a team to deliver due diligence and tax structuring services to clients. You will also have the opportunity to work with other senior members of the M&A Tax group on various technical tax issues, such as consolidated returns, S Corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies. In addition, you will have the chance to assist clients with reorganizations, bankruptcy emergence planning, out of court workouts, debt restructurings, tax basis, Earning and Profits, and Section 382 studies.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide due diligence and tax structuring services to clients
- Assist with various technical tax issues, including consolidated returns, S Corporations, partnerships, and limited liability companies
- Work on client engagements simultaneously and collaborate with other M&A colleagues
- Develop and train junior team members
- Conduct research and write reports as needed

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field
- 5+ years of federal tax with mergers and acquisition experience in a public accounting firm, a corporate tax department, or a law firm
- CPA, JD or EA required
- Knowledge of a broad range of corporate tax matters in various industries
- Ability to lead multiple client engagements simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

- Master’s Degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field
- Experience with a national or large regional accounting firm

Salary Information: The salary range for this role is $129,800 - $260,700, and there is potential for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance. The final salary for the successful candidate may fall within this range, depending on factors such as education, experience, certifications, and location.
