Law Firm Seeking Experienced ERISA/Benefits Attorney

Join our dynamic and thriving law firm, Shumaker, as an ERISA/Benefits Attorney. We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced attorney to join our team and handle sophisticated and challenging employee benefits cases for clients in Florida and nationwide. This is a full-time, on-site position with competitive compensation and excellent benefits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Handle complex case assignments related to retirement plans, health and welfare plans, Taft-Hartley benefit plans, and executive compensation.
- Communicate effectively with clients and manage ongoing relationships.
- Conduct thorough research and utilize online services and databases to support cases.
- Utilize strong technological skills, including proficiency with practice management systems and portals.
- Manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Uphold a high level of confidentiality in all work.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school.
- Active Florida bar license.
- 5+ years of professional ERISA law practice experience.
- Strong technological skills, including proficiency with practice management systems and portals.
- Superior research skills, including the use of online services and databases.
- Project management skills, including the ability to successfully manage and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work independently and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to sit in a static position for up to one-half hour at a time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to one hour per day.
- Ability to bend and stoop occasionally, up to one-half hour per day.
Location:
This position can sit in-person at any of the following offices: Charleston, South Carolina; Charlotte, North Carolina; Akron, Columbus or Toledo, Ohio; Minneapolis, Minnesota; or Sarasota or Tampa, Florida.
Education, Experience and Skills:
