An esteemed law firm is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Government Contracts Associate to join its legal team. This position involves handling complex matters related to government contracts law, including compliance, litigation, and strategic counseling. Duties
- Represent clients in bid protests and related litigation.
- Provide legal counsel on cybersecurity and acquisition regulations, including FAR and DFARS compliance.
- Draft and negotiate Requests for Equitable Adjustments (REAs) and claims, and manage Contract Disputes Act (CDA) litigation.
- Advise on federal subcontracting, disputes, and flow-down compliance issues.
- Counsel on matters related to multiple award contracts and small business procurement.
- Work across industries such as aerospace/defense, construction, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing.
- Engage in legal thought leadership, including written and oral presentations.
- Contribute to client development and build relationships for long-term growth.
Requirements
- At least 4–5 years of experience in government contracts law, ideally within a law firm setting.
- Strong independent decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal issues effectively.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Virginia State Bar admission is strongly preferred.
