Job Title: Associate Counsel - Insurance Defense (Remote) in Brooklyn, NY
Experience: 2-6+ years
Salary: $116,000 - $182,000 annually
Job Description:
- Research and analyze laws to prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
- Provide opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department
- Handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations before trial
- Defend matters assigned by trial or dispositive hearing
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree required
- Admission to the New York Bar required
- 2-6+ years of experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury litigation
- Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in New York
- Ability to travel as needed for trials, hearings, and meetings
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn and apply technical and procedural information
Preferred Qualifications:
- Civil litigation experience
- Insurance defense-related litigation experience
