Summary:

Shumaker is seeking an experienced ERISA/Benefits Attorney to join our team and engage in sophisticated and challenging work for clients nationwide. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of employee benefits experience and possess knowledge of retirement plans, health and welfare plans, Taft-Hartley benefit plans, and executive compensation. This position offers the opportunity to manage complex cases, develop strong communication and research skills, and work with clients on a regular basis.

Responsibilities:

- Engage in sophisticated and challenging ERISA work for clients nationwide
- Manage complex case assignments
- Communicate with clients on an ongoing basis
- Develop strong research and writing skills
- Utilize practice management systems and portals
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Maintain confidentiality

Requirements:

- Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school
- Active bar license for the state in which candidate will work out of
- 5+ years of professional ERISA law practice experience
- Strong technological skills
- Superior research skills
- Project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to sit for up to one-half hour at a time
- Lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Bending and stooping occasionally
