Overview:
The **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. offers unpaid internship opportunities for college students to gain real-world experience in their field of study. These internships provide students with the opportunity to work in various Local and Area Offices, as well as the CP&P and DCF Central Offices. The intern will also have the chance to work closely with the Office of Legal and Legislative Affairs and the immigration unit.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and summarize Appellate and Supreme Court Decisions that impact the department
- Assist with administrative appeals and ensure cases are thoroughly reviewed for eligibility
- Work with the immigration unit to assist with immigration issues facing the populations served by the department
- Communicate with a variety of agencies in a professional manner
- Assist with writing Final Agency Decisions after an Office of Administrative Law hearing
Requirements:
- Must be a current college student
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with various agencies
- Familiarity with legal research and writing
- Willingness to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
