Associate Attorney Duties: Advise on and assist with compliance matters and projects to ensure compliance with federal regulations and laws including RESPA, TILA, FDCPA, and TCPA, state loan servicing and debt collection regulations, agency and investor requirements and guidelines and evolving case law. Conduct legal research and analysis to provide advice on best business practices. Review documents for compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Work with business units to resolve loan-level legal and compliance issues.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree. Juris Doctor from accredited law school. Must have 1 year of experience in the practice of law, preferably in the mortgage default industry, real estate or mortgage law. Admission to practice law in the state of California. Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Must have the ability to interpret client systems. Must be proficient in software tools including but not limited to Word, Excel, Outlook and the Internet. Provides exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Conscientious with respect to work completion, deadlines, time management and attendance. Takes initiative in face of obstacles and identifies what needs to be done and takes action. Demonstrates commitment to the Firm's vision, mission and core values. Analytical and detail-oriented, while working at a face pace and capable of multi-tasking. Excellent problem solving and organizational skills. Must be a team player and willing to help others in their department whenever necessary. Overall good work ethic and willingness to adapt to change.
