Job Title: Labor & Employment Associate
Job Responsibilities:
The Labor & Employment Associate at the law firm will be responsible for handling a broad range of employment-related issues. Key responsibilities include:
- Engaging in single-plaintiff employment litigation, such as cases involving workplace discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination lawsuits.
- Handling class action and Private Attorneys General Act (PAGA) cases.
- Drafting legal documents, including pleadings, discovery, and motions, and arguing motions in court.
- Taking and defending depositions and conducting administrative hearings, which is considered a plus.
- Drafting workplace policies and conducting employee training sessions.
- Providing day-to-day advice and counsel to employers on various employment issues.
Education and Experience Information:
Candidates must be licensed to practice law in California and should have a minimum of 1 year of experience in labor and employment law. The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience with a range of employment issues, including litigation and class action/PAGA cases.
- Litigation experience, including drafting pleadings, discovery, motions, and arguing motions.
- Additional experience in taking and defending depositions and conducting administrative hearings is advantageous.
- Strong work ethic, along with excellent writing, communication, and research skills.
Salary Information:
The salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $175,000 annually, based on a full-time work schedule. Actual compensation will be influenced by various factors such as employee qualifications, relevant experience, skill sets, training, internal equity, and market data. The position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus.
