Summary:

We are seeking a Compliance and Privacy Program Manager to join our team at a reputed healthcare firm in Linthicum, MD. This full-time position requires three days onsite and two days of remote work, supporting our Central Region with local travel between Linthicum and Baltimore. The ideal candidate will have healthcare experience and a Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree preferred. This role will involve developing, implementing, and maintaining policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Manage risk assessments related to HIPPA and privacy compliance for assigned member organizations, including analyzing risks and communicating them to stakeholders.
- Lead the Member Organization Privacy Monitoring Program, ensuring ongoing monitoring of inappropriate/unauthorized access and disclosures.
- Provide guidance to departmental representatives on the development of specific policies and procedures.
- Develop monitoring and auditing tools and provide summary reports to promote compliance and privacy.
- Coordinate local compliance and privacy auditing and monitoring activities.
- Provide ongoing education and training on compliance and privacy to assigned member organizations.
- Promote compliance and privacy awareness through various modes of publicity.
- Maintain systems to solicit and respond to complaints and issues, coordinating investigations and corrective actions.
- Sit on UMMS and Member Organizations' Compliance Committees and draft agendas and materials.
- Monitor and stay up-to-date with laws, regulations, and guidelines, communicating relevant updates to stakeholders.
- Prepare reports for executive leadership and the Audit and Compliance Committee of the Board of Directors.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of related compliance and privacy experience in healthcare, with a background in healthcare regulatory issues.
- Certified in Healthcare Compliance or other professional compliance certification (or achieve certification within 12 months of hire).
- Experience and working knowledge of Corporate Compliance, Audit, Legal, Privacy, or Information Security.
- Current knowledge of healthcare regulatory and compliance issues.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Time management skills and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of personal computer operation and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), audit, compliance, or other business intelligence-based software preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of compliance-related issues.
