About the Role:
As a Conflicts Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our risk management functions by performing various duties related to new business intake processing and conflict of interest reporting. You will be responsible for analyzing information, conducting research, and composing conflict-of-interest reports. You will also provide first-round review and analysis of new client/matter requests, identify potential conflict issues, and support the conflict resolution process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze information and interpret search results
- Conduct research through internal and external sources
- Compose conflict-of-interest reports
- Provide first-round review and analysis of new client/matter requests
- Review complex search results and perform searches on external and internal databases
- Summarize relevant data and discuss with Conflict Counsel and requesting attorneys
- Apply directives issued by managers and the Office of General Counsel
- Identify parties involved in legal transactions and define relationships within the conflicts-of-interest system
- Escalate issues to Conflict Counsel or the General Counsel's Office when necessary
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- Experience with conflicts-of-interest and new business intake in a law firm environment
- Knowledge of conflict-of-interest and new business intake principles
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong service orientation
- Strong evaluative and problem-solving skills
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
This job operates in a clerical, office setting and may require some walking and standing. The employee must be able to lift up to 10 pounds and have close visual acuity for tasks such as analyzing data and reading.
