Job Summary:
We are seeking a Claims Manager to actively manage EPL, private D&O, and Fiduciary claims for public, private, and not-for-profit institutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in handling D&O/EPL claims for financial institutions and a strong understanding of policy language and coverage. This position can be filled in Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, or Atlanta.
Essential Job Functions:
- Evaluate coverage, draft correspondence, and assess reserves
- Conduct claims investigations and manage defense counsel
- Assess liability and financial exposure and negotiate resolutions
- Handle claims for EPL and professional liability, with knowledge of federal and state laws
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Work independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience in a carrier is required
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required, Juris Doctorate preferred
- 7 to 10 years of experience in insurance or legal profession, specifically in Financial and/or Professional Lines claims
- Strong understanding of policy language and coverage
- In-depth knowledge of the US legal system, civil litigation, and ADR proceedings
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive and independent thinker
