Responsibilities:
- Assisting with legal work under the supervision of an attorney
- Conducting research and analyzing documents
- Evaluating risk and calculating costs
- Preparing legal documents
- Filing documents with regulatory authorities and courts
- Assisting with administrative tasks
- Acting as a liaison between attorney and outside counsel
- Resolving issues and escalating when necessary
- Ensuring risks are identified and controlled in accordance with policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1 year of experience in legal support or related field
- Intermediate knowledge of relevant functions and skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience assisting attorneys in handling discovery, conducting legal research, drafting motions, and performing trial preparation for a personal injury insurance defense staff counsel office in the state of Georgia
- Notary Public
- Bachelor's Degree
- US military experience or spouse/domestic partner of military member
Compensation:
- Salary range: $51,370 - $92,060
