Saul Ewing is seeking a Senior Manager of Research Services and Strategic Intelligence to join our knowledge management department and lead the transformation of research services within the firm. Key Responsibilities:
- Evolve and lead legal research services by integrating advanced technologies and process improvement to enhance efficiency and impact
- Oversee a team of research professionals to deliver client-focused, high-quality research support for attorneys and paralegals
- Drive the creation and implementation of a comprehensive competitive and client intelligence strategy to inform firm's strategic goals
- Partner with practice groups, business development, and senior leadership to understand key client needs and deliver actionable insights
- Manage firm's budget, contracts, and subscriptions for research and intelligence tools, continuously assessing the legal research landscape for new technologies
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
- Communicate research findings and insights to diverse audiences in a clear and actionable manner
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in research, library or information sciences, or a relevant field; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal research, competitive intelligence, and/or knowledge management within a law firm or similar professional services environment
- Proven expertise in leading research teams and driving technological change
- Familiarity with cutting-edge legal research technologies, including AI, machine learning, and predictive analytics
- Strong project management skills with a focus on delivering results in a fast-paced, client-driven environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams and present complex findings in a clear, actionable format
- Familiarity with budget management, vendor negotiations, and subscription-based services in the legal research field
