Responsibilities
• Conduct research and provide legal advice to clients on energy regulatory matters
• Prepare and file regulatory applications and other legal documents
• Represent clients before state public utility commissions and other regulatory agencies
• Handle issues related to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Department of Energy, or New York Independent System Operator (or other similar Regional Transmission Organization)
• Participate in negotiations and settlements on behalf of clients
• Analyze and interpret laws, regulations, and policies related to the energy sector
• Keep informed of developments and changes in energy law and regulations
• Communicate with clients and provide updates on the status of their matters
Skills
• Knowledge of energy law and regulations
