Experience Information:
- Admission to the New York State Bar and two (2) years of service in the Associate Law Clerk to Judge title; or five (5) years of relevant legal experience, including up to 18 months of pre-admission experience

Position Summary:
- Responsible for researching and analyzing complex legal issues and questions for individual judges
- Provide personal and confidential assistance to assigned judge(s)
- Personally appointed by judge(s) and serve at their pleasure

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and analyze legal questions and issues, and prepare memoranda with recommendations
- Draft opinions, decisions, orders, jury charges, correspondence, and other written materials
- Meet and confer with lawyers on complex proceedings and review legal documents filed in connection with such proceedings
- Review and verify citations
- Advise judge(s) on legal issues
- Conduct conferences with attorneys and other parties to clarify issues or settle cases

Qualifications:
- Admission to the New York State Bar
- Two (2) years of service in the Associate Law Clerk to Judge title; or five (5) years of relevant legal experience, including up to 18 months of pre-admission experience
- Proficiency in legal writing
- Knowledge of laws and rules governing civil practice
- Ability to read, comprehend, and communicate complex legal and technical data
- Ability to analyze legal issues and identify relevant case opinions and facts
- Ability to establish work priorities
- Ability to handle sensitive matters on a confidential basis
