The Kuiper Legal team supports Project Kuiper, Amazon’s initiative to launch a constellation of Low Earth Orbit satellites that will provide low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity to unserved and underserved communities around the world.
The Kuiper Legal team is seeking an attorney to join the team advising on regulatory and compliance issues. Experience advising broadband and telecommunications providers on regulatory and compliance matters is helpful but not required.
This role involves providing advice on a wide range of topics both domestically and globally related to Kuiper’s operations, a stellar candidate should be able to learn new technologies and laws at light speed.
Working closely with the Kuiper team and across Amazon, this Corporate Counsel will develop strategies for handling legal issues in creative, business-centric ways, and will build processes that address risk and allow Kuiper to move quickly.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about technology, enjoys being continually challenged, and demonstrates sound judgment on novel legal issues with a high degree of ambiguity.
This position may be based in Redmond, WA or Arlington, VA (HQ2). Some travel, domestic and international, may be required.
Export Control Requirement:

The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
Strong written and oral communication skills are required for this role.

The base pay for this position ranges from $138,500/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
