- Responsible for advising clients on tax implications and accounting matters related to unclaimed property compliance and consulting
- Utilizes tax and accounting skills in a consultative capacity, analyzing and modeling sporadic data sets
- Recommends alternate courses of action and identifies methods for complying with unclaimed property statutes and regulations
- Manages project management, presentations, compliance, audit defense, VDAs, and other consulting engagements
- Works with Core Tax and Audit Principals, Directors, and Senior Managers to provide SALT expertise to clients
- Conducts research and maintains relationships with tax authorities
- Assists with unclaimed property compliance, including data manipulation, reconciliation, and response to notices
- Provides consulting services, such as drafting memorandums and opinions, developing policies and procedures, and conducting client interviews
- Represents clients in unclaimed property controversies
- Utilizes software and maintains knowledge of various accounting systems
- Supervises and trains SALT Managers, Senior Associates, and Associates
- Evaluates performance and provides feedback for career development
- Requires a Bachelor's degree and six or more years of experience in tax, auditing, or forensic accounting
- Preferred certifications include CPA, Attorney, or Internal Revenue Service Enrolled Agent (EA)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with tax-related software preferred
- Must have excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work well in a team environment
