Job Title: Criminal Defense Paralegal/Legal Assistant

Job Responsibilities:
The Criminal Defense Paralegal/Legal Assistant will be an integral part of the legal team within the criminal defense department at the law firm. The individual will work under the guidance of an attorney but is expected to carry out tasks independently. Key responsibilities include:

- Completing client intakes to gather necessary information for case preparation.
- Assisting in the drafting of briefs and legal filings to support the attorney.
- Organizing supporting documents to ensure all evidence and paperwork are in order.
- Assisting clients in compiling and preparing evidence required for their cases.
- Regularly communicating with clients to update them on case status and gather additional information as needed.
- Managing an independent caseload while ensuring that all legal deadlines are met.
- Maintaining the internal case management system to keep track of case progress and documentation.

Education and Experience Information:
Candidates are required to have either a Bachelor's Degree or a Paralegal Certification. International degrees will also be considered. Alternatively, candidates with one year or more of experience working in criminal defense cases may also qualify for this position. Additional requirements include:

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong client service skills to effectively interact with and support clients.
- The ability to work independently and under strict legal deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and cases efficiently.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English is essential, as the role requires communication in both languages.

Salary Information:
The position offers a pay range of to per hour, with compensation commensurate with the candidate's experience. Additionally, the position is full-time and eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
