Position Summary
We are looking for a talented Legal Counsel to join our team and provide support for our businesses across the Americas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in client service and a practical, problem-solving approach. This position will be based in either Fort Mill, . or Allen, TX.
Role Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and support to sales, proposition and leadership teams in the Americas.
- Review, draft, revise and negotiate agreements with customers, vendors, partners, and other third parties.
- Advise on legal issues related to content, data, and news collection, usage, and licensing.
- Research and respond to general legal inquiries from in-house clients.
- Work on general corporate and data licensing matters as well as projects and initiatives.
- Identify ways to improve internal processes and procedures.
- Coordinate with outside counsel on legal matters.
- Maintain and update contract templates and integrate customer contracts from acquired companies.
- Identify and brief Americas’ Head of Legal on potential and actual risks and legal exposures.
- Collaborate with and seek input from specialist in-house lawyers and compliance professionals.
- Implement internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- Proven experience in a legal position handling a broad range of commercial law subject areas, experience at a top law firm a plus.
- Exposure to financial services, wealth management, and technology environments is helpful.
- Must be qualified to practice in the . and licensed in at least 1 state with a law degree from an accredited law school.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Strong contract negotiation and drafting abilities.
- Outstanding commitment to customer service.
- Excellent planning, interpersonal, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
- Strong administrative and time management skills.
- Proven track record of independently managing projects and deadlines.
