Job Overview:
A highly respected law firm is seeking a qualified Corporate Associate with a focus on Privacy & Cyber (Transactional) to join their team. This position offers an opportunity for a talented attorney with a minimum of two years of experience in privacy law to work on cutting-edge compliance and transactional matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and corporate transactional work related to data privacy and security. The role involves working with top-tier clients across various industries on high-profile privacy and security issues, including M&A deals, IPOs, and more.

Location:

Duties:

  • Advise clients on compliance with privacy laws and regulations
  • Negotiate privacy and security components of commercial services agreements
  • Handle privacy and security aspects of corporate transactions (., M&A deals, IPOs)
  • Draft and negotiate privacy-related clauses in corporate agreements
  • Lead matters proactively and efficiently, managing multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Work collaboratively with other legal professionals to address complex data privacy and security issues
  • Provide insight into the intersection of technology and privacy law

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in privacy law, with a focus on corporate transactional work
  • Experience with commercial contracts, regulatory compliance, and data privacy/security issues
  • Proven track record in managing privacy and security aspects of corporate transactions (M&A, IPOs)
  • Excellent drafting and negotiation skills
  • Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines independently
  • Strong understanding of privacy laws and regulations
  • Knowledge of technology and online technologies preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • CIPP certification (preferred but not required)

Skills:

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • In-depth knowledge of privacy laws and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management and multitasking abilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Aptitude for technology and understanding of online technologies (preferred)
