Job Responsibilities:
- Assist attorneys with trademark matters, including prosecution, searches, and enforcement.
- Prepare and file trademark applications and related documents with USPTO and foreign trademark offices.
- Manage and execute trademark renewals and maintenance filings.
- Oversee trademark docketing staff, including quality control and monitoring deadlines.
- Prepare legal correspondence and assist with trademark due diligence searches.
- Communicate frequently with clients, both written and verbally.
- Accurately create time entry narratives to describe work performed, as this position has a billable hour requirement.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of trademark prosecution experience, including US and foreign prosecution.
- Familiarity with trademark databases such as Pattsy or comparable docketing databases.
- Experience with trademark search tools, preferably CorSearch.
- Knowledge of the official . Patent and Trademark Office database.
- Strong computing skills and ability to quickly learn new software tools.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with experience in PDF programs and VISIO preferred.
- Familiarity with handling trademark specimens and graphics.
- Experience with copyright and patent prosecution is a plus.
