Job Title: Data Architect

Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering and/or related roles in a professional service organization, handling structured, unstructured, and semi-structured data to create business solutions.

Salary: $124,000 - $240,000 (determined during interview process)

Key Relationships:
- Reports to Data Scientist
- Works closely with Global Information Technology Teams
- Establishes relationships with other departments, IT peers, IT architects, directors, executives, and external vendors
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams from Business Development, Finance, HR, Reporting, and Records

Essential Duties:
- Facilitates collaboration with data stakeholders to understand the firm's data sources and enhance data strategy
- Serves as a member of a high-performing data team to support business decision capabilities
- Develops, implements, and maintains data architectures, standards, and data-driven strategies to improve business operations
- Leads the design, development, and implementation of scalable, reliable, robust, and secure data pipelines
- Participates in requirements gathering process and helps prioritize data needs for supported initiatives
- Integrates artificial intelligence and machine learning into development process
- Collaborates with other architects and data teams to ensure consistency and interoperability across technology landscape
- Conducts regular performance assessments and implements optimizations to enhance system efficiency
- Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation of architectural and data designs
- Ensures data science outputs and solutions are effective for day-to-day business operations
- Designs and implements data insight products and services that can be operationalized at scale
- Collaborates with other elements of the firm's data function to drive data initiatives
- Serves as a solutions expert by developing, implementing, supporting, troubleshooting, and updating applications, software, code, and pipelines
- Ensures system stability, reliability, and scalability aligned with firm's goals
- Stays informed about industry trends and emerging technologies
- Designs data platform to create a unified data ecosystem
- Facilitates enforcement of firm's data governance and security policies
- Works with quality assurance team to assist with testing efforts
- Act as an exemplary member of Enterprise Applications Team
- Enhance career through self-training and professional development
- Participates in cross-departmental Data Control Board
- Provides technical leadership and mentorship to development and engineering teams
- Meets with vendors to identify training opportunities and inform future strategic planning

Experience Skills Required:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, applied mathematics, or related field
- Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and handle interruptions while maintaining flexibility in work assignments
- Effective communication skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in data engineering and/or related roles in professional service organization
- Expertise in managing large-scale Azure big data solutions and systems
- Proficiency in coding or scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Scala, R, SQL
- Ability to acquire and assess data from various sources
- Experience working in systems and solutions that comply with global data handling and regulatory standards
- Familiarity with data modeling tools such as Microsoft Power BI or Tableau
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Extensive understanding of legal industry
- Experience in delivering cross-functional projects
- Advanced knowledge of KCS methodology
- Applicable certifications in Data Science/Engineering
- Experience in influencing and collaborating with multiple departments/business units
- Familiarity with distributed systems and organizational structures

Additional Abilities Required:
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed
- Effective presentation skills
- Ability to work on a team with members in different offices and time zones
- Willingness to travel
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other firm applications
- Ability to perform job functions in office or remote setting
- Familiarity with technologies to improve configurations and troubleshoot issues
- Ability to work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
