Job Title: Associate Counsel - California (REMOTE)
Salary: $112, - $186, per year
Experience: 2-6+ years in insurance defense and personal injury litigation
Overview:
- GEICO is seeking an experienced Associate Counsel to join their team in California and defend lawsuits filed against the company in California courts.
- This is a full-time remote position with various locations available in California, including Los Angeles, San Diego, Sacramento, and San Francisco.
- The selected candidate must have a Juris Doctor degree and be licensed to practice law in California.
- The role requires the ability to travel as needed and strong communication and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, opinions, and memoranda.
- Provide opinions on liability, damages, and value as requested by the Claims Department.
- Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery, including depositions and examinations under oath.
- Defend cases by trial or dispositive hearing.
Qualifications:
- 2-6+ years of experience in insurance defense and personal injury litigation.
- Juris Doctor degree and admission to the California Bar.
- Must be licensed in good standing to practice law in California and meet Continuing Legal Education requirements.
- Must have the ability to travel and strong communication and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Civil litigation experience.
- Insurance defense-related litigation experience.
