H2: Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Collections Manager

Bullet Points:

- Overseeing a team of collection associates and ensuring compliance with firm, client, state and federal laws
- Managing department trainer and training of new hires into collections department
- Collaborating with Collections management team on client-specific staffing and training
- Assisting collections staff with debt repayment arrangements
- Maintaining quality control standards and enforcing them
- Managing reporting for collections staff and completing monthly scorecards
- Communicating effectively with both superiors and associates
- Extensive knowledge of collections laws and processes
- Entering and maintaining accurate data
- Training and coaching team members on compliance and processes
- Managing team schedules and assignments
- Assisting with department operations
- Developing goals and incentives with Collections Director
- Managing relationships with Attorney and DSC firms for bulk and individual file collections
- Reporting on AA/DSC collection and production metrics

- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office programs
- Detail-oriented and highly organized

Education and Experience:

- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a supervisor/manager position in collections, legal, banking or business field
- Bachelor's degree preferred

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
