SUMMARY:

- Corporate Counsel position with Last Mile Legal department at Services LLC
- Responsible for supporting insurance and claims program for Last Mile logistics and transportation operations
- Advise on development and launch of insurance products for traditional transportation companies and gig economy
- Evaluate insurance policies and recommend changes/modifications
- Ensure compliance with state and federal insurance laws and regulations
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts with third-party administrators and other vendors
- Develop strategies for handling legal and regulatory issues in creative, business-centric ways
- Coordinate with overseas lawyers for local legal expertise
- Travel, domestic and international, may be required
- Based in Seattle, WA or Arlington, VA

JOB TITLE: Corporate Counsel - Last Mile Legal

H1: Corporate Counsel position for insurance and claims program at Amazon's Last Mile logistics and transportation operations

H2: Support for insurance product development and claims administration

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

- Juris Doctor and membership in one state bar or equivalent
- 5+ years of legal experience
- Experience in the insurance and claims industry
- Knowledge of state and federal insurance laws and regulations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Experience of a mix of corporate law firm and in-house work

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Advise on development and launch of insurance products for traditional transportation companies and gig economy
- Identify legal, regulatory, and compliance risks and mitigation strategies
- Support all aspects of claims administration
- Define legal and regulatory requirements and support development of internal compliance functions
- Analyze insurance policies and recommend changes/modifications
- Evaluate internal processes for risk/compliance with state and federal law and regulations
- Review, draft, and negotiate contracts with third-party administrators and other vendors
- Develop strategies for handling legal and regulatory issues in creative, business-centric ways
- Coordinate with overseas lawyers for local legal expertise
