Job Description:
The Corporate Counsel will be responsible for overseeing the legal affairs of **** This includes providing legal advice and counsel to the corporation on various matters such as corporate governance, taxation, real estate, employment and labor issues, contract drafting and review, intellectual property, and general litigation. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience as a corporate attorney, preferably in a mid-sized company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and counsel on various matters related to corporate governance, taxation, real estate, employment and labor issues, contract drafting and review, intellectual property, and general litigation.
- Advise and assist in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures.
- Review and draft contracts, agreements, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations.
- Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiate settlements.
- Oversee outside counsel and manage legal budget.
- Train and educate employees on legal matters and compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure legal compliance.
- Handle any other legal matters as needed.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the state of Indiana.
- At least 5 years of experience as a corporate attorney, preferably in a mid-sized company.
- Strong knowledge of corporate law, including corporate governance, taxation, real estate, employment and labor issues, contract drafting and review, and intellectual property.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Experience managing outside counsel and legal budget.
- Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations and ability to stay updated on changes.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and provide guidance and training to employees.
