- The Civil Rights & Employment practice group represents employees facing systemic discrimination in the workplace, individuals challenging discrimination in housing and lending, and workers not paid their legally owed wages.
- The firm also handles cases involving Antitrust, Consumer Protection, Securities Fraud, Employee Benefits, Qui Tam/False Claims Act, International Human Rights, Catastrophic Injury, and representing state attorneys general in civil law enforcement investigations and litigation.
Responsibilities:
- Provide support to attorneys in the Civil Rights & Employment practice group's cases and potential case investigations.
- Conduct factual research, including interviewing potential clients and class members.
- Maintain client records and respond to client questions.
- Review documents and organize and code them.
- Manage case files and perform clerical tasks associated with filing documents in . courts.
Qualifications:
- Four-year degree with strong academic credentials.
- Demonstrated interest in law, civil rights, or both.
- Understanding of and willingness to learn about basic legal concepts, terminology, principles, and procedures.
- Excellent communication and writing ability, organizational skills, analytical skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
- Attention to detail.
- Commitment to working as part of a team.
- Experience with legal research tools, such as Lexis/Nexis or Westlaw, and databases like Microsoft Access is a plus.
- Fluency in Spanish is a strong plus.
Schedule:
- Full-time, 35-hour work week.
- Typically Monday through Friday, 9:00 . to 5:00 .
- Flexibility for overtime as needed.
- Hybrid work schedule with up to three remote days per week.
