H2: Overview of the Position
Taft, a law firm in Colorado Springs, is seeking an experienced Employment & Labor Relations Paralegal to join their team. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, 2-5 years of litigation/employment law experience, and familiarity with general processes and systems of mid-to-large sized firms.
H2: Responsibilities
- Prepare legal documents with attention to detail and accuracy
- Conduct fact investigation and research, both online and within case materials
- Manage and maintain document organization and case files
- Utilize technical databases to upload and retrieve supporting documents
- Monitor and prioritize workflow to meet project deadlines
- Compile arbitrator information and schedule arbitration and trial preparation meetings
- Communicate with clients, Union counsel, and arbitrators to schedule hearings
- Assist in arbitration hearing preparation, including drafting testimony outlines and exhibit lists
- Maintain the arbitration awards database
- Provide constructive guidelines to other employees and third parties
- Perform data entry and general administrative tasks
- Maintain and submit time entries for billing purposes
- Communicate effectively with other legal and support departments, as well as clients
H2: Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
- Certificate of completion from a Paralegal school or institute preferred
- 2-5 years of litigation/employment law experience preferred
- Familiarity with general processes and systems of mid-to-large sized firms
- Ability to multi-task and maintain a professional demeanor
- Knowledge of legal research techniques and software systems
- Familiarity with court rules and procedures
- Knowledge of law office practices and procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
H2: Compensation and Benefits
Taft offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life, long term disability, flexible spending, 401K, Paid Time Off, paid holidays, and bonuses. The salary range for this position is $55,000-$80,000/year, with actual compensation based on experience, education, and skill level.
