Opportunities and Duties:
- Supervise staff attorneys and handle complex cases in state and federal court
- Litigate at all phases, including case development, pre-trial, negotiation, and trial work
- Collaborate with Deputy Chiefs to support staff attorneys and identify areas for growth
- Attend national trainings and conferences, serve on boards and commissions, and provide expertise for legislative initiatives
- Work independently and as part of a team, with strong written and oral advocacy skills
Qualifications:
- Law degree from an accredited school and active membership in good standing of any bar
- Preferably a member of the Rhode Island Bar or eligible for admission and willing to take the bar exam
- 10+ years of litigation experience, including jury trials
- Strong written/oral advocacy and negotiating skills
- Ability to work in a high-stress, demanding environment and with other attorneys and staff
- Experience in both state and federal court preferred
- Innovative thinking and ability to meet the needs of Rhode Island residents
