Position Summary

- Part of global Practice Solutions team
- Conducts substantive research across practice areas to provide insights for client work and business development
- Coordinates and conducts attorney training on research tools and methodology
- Leads short- and long-term research projects and participates in department strategic initiatives
- Collaborates with colleagues to provide research across White & Case offices

Duties and Accountabilities

- Performs substantive research using online and print information to support local and global practices
- Provides competitive intelligence and background research for business and client development efforts
- Assesses research requests to ensure they meet stated and anticipated needs
- Educates attorneys and staff on research resources and methodology
- Creates newsletters and alerts for ongoing monitoring of clients, industries, and events
- Participates in evaluating and developing research collection and piloting new services, including AI tools
- Ensures continuing professional development and keeps abreast of the legal industry
- Provides cross-training and mentoring to colleagues in other offices
- Tracks and records billable and non-billable time spent on research services

Qualifications

- 5+ years of broad research experience, Master's degree in Library Science, law degree, or other relevant advanced degree preferred
- Prior experience in fields such as law firms, investment banking, consulting, accounting, or journalism
- Strong research and problem-solving skills, with ability to synthesize large amounts of information into actionable intelligence
- Expert knowledge of key legal and corporate databases and tools, including Lexis+, Westlaw Edge, Bloomberg Law, and more
- Strong data literacy skills and experience with data manipulation preferred
- Resourceful, proactive, and able to prioritize effectively and meet tight deadlines
- Strong client service focus, superior written and oral communication skills, and ability to build productive relationships
- Ability to apply strong, independent judgment and maintain confidentiality
- Availability to work outside regular hours as needed

Location and Reporting

- Role can be based in any of our . offices: Boston, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Silicon Valley, Tampa, or Washington, .
- Reports to Director of Research & Market Intelligence

- Salary range for Chicago market: 95,350 - 143,050 USD yearly
- Salary range for Los Angeles market: 99,350 - 149,050 USD yearly
- Salary range for New York market: 99,350 - 149,050 USD yearly
- Salary range for Silicon Valley market: 104,300 - 156,500 USD yearly
- Salary range for Washington . market: 99,350 - 149,050 USD yearly
- Salary range in other markets will vary based on location and experience.
