This role offers a global scope, with a focus on protecting the security, safety, and integrity of our employees, locations, and assets. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal advice and support on matters related to the physical security and safety of **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***. employees, with a particular focus on executive liability and crisis management.
- Assess and advise on regulations and trends related to executive liability and local presence requirements for social media companies.
- Manage and provide legal guidance on criminal investigations against **MEMBERS ONLY**SIGN UP NOW***..
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Legal, Policy, Communications, Engineering, Security, and Business Operations, to address government regulations and investigations.
- Foster positive relationships with government agencies and law enforcement, in close collaboration with internal teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
- . degree (or foreign equivalent)
- Active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain registered in-house counsel status (if required by the State Bar in the assigned work location)
- 10+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience
- Demonstrated business judgment and client counseling skills
- Experience working with . law, including criminal laws and international treaties
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as in-house or government counsel providing guidance on law enforcement and criminal matters.
- Prior industry experience or advising private companies on law enforcement and criminal matters.
- Experience managing and leading cross-functional efforts, and prioritizing competing project timelines.
- Experience analyzing and reviewing emerging regulations relating to technology companies.
- Experience managing criminal investigations or enforcement matters.
- Experience drafting legislation and/or legal policies for large or complex organizations.
- Experience in criminal justice, with a firm grasp of the regulatory landscape in the United States and awareness of global trends impacting tech companies.
- Experience working effectively with large multi-stakeholder cross-functional teams across time zones.
