Duties: The candidate provides oversight in the management and operation of day-to-day programs and activities of the Board. Serves as a reviewing authority in formal, quasi-judicial proceedings and adjudicates cases as a Board member. Assesses and designs systems to implement goals and objectives of the Board. Exercises discretionary authority to approve the allocation and distribution of funds. Provides direction to the Board in applying the immigration and nationality laws uniformly throughout the United States. Represents the Board in the presentation of positions and policies within the Department of Justice. Directs various facets of recruitment and selection of key staff through professional and technical managers. Monitors performance of Board members to ensure appropriate judicial behavior and temperament and staff compliance with ethics and integrity standards.
