Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced litigation attorney with 3-5 years of experience, ideally in product liability, premises liability, and mass tort defense. This position is based in the Chicago office and offers the opportunity to handle cases throughout Illinois, with the potential for involvement in national litigation teams. The successful candidate will primarily defend product manufacturers in mass tort cases, including asbestos, hair relaxer, and talc litigation. Additional opportunities may include defense for gig economy companies, transportation, and municipalities.

Duties:
Trial preparation, including strategy discussions, discovery, records review, client interviews, and witness preparation
Conduct legal and factual research for cases
Draft briefs, memos, and client updates
Attend depositions, hearings, and mediations
Collaborate with national counsel teams, particularly attorneys in St. Louis and Detroit offices
Travel to various locations for case-related matters
Work from the Chicago loop office during business hours
Requirements:
Active Illinois Bar license (Michigan and/or Missouri license preferred)
3-5 years of litigation experience, including deposition and courtroom experience
Participation in law review and/or moot court is a plus
Strong academic credentials
Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills (writing sample required)
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple projects and meeting strict deadlines
Self-starter with the ability to manage competing demands
Client-focused mentality
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a strong team
High attention to detail
Technologically savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
Intellectually curious, keeping up with litigation trends and legal opinions
Education:

Certifications:
Active Illinois Bar license required
Michigan and/or Missouri Bar licenses are a plus
