Job Summary:

BDO is seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Managing Director for the Accounting Methods practice in Dallas, TX. This role is crucial in providing tax advice to clients, evaluating tax risks and opportunities, and developing and implementing tax strategies for maximum benefit to clients. The Managing Director will also play a key role in business development and maintaining client relationships, as well as providing guidance and support to the Tax Services leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct thorough research on tax implications and alternative courses of action for clients
Ensure compliance with applicable tax authorities while minimizing tax burden for clients
Identify and maximize potential Accounting Methods opportunities for clients
Represent clients in tax-related inquiries and controversies
Utilize tax software and research databases for efficient completion of tasks
Develop an in-depth understanding of technical and practical issues related to Accounting Methods
Act as industry expert in Accounting Methods and identify cross-selling opportunities with other tax specializations
Serve as primary contact for assigned engagements and handle client interactions
Develop and implement new tax strategies and lead marketing campaigns and initiatives
Supervise and train tax professionals on assigned engagements
Evaluate and enhance performance of team members and assist in their professional development
Act as Career Advisor to team members

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, required
Master’s degree in Taxation, preferred
Juris Doctorate (.), preferred
CPA certification or other relevant certification, required
10+ years of experience in Accounting Methods tax consulting, preferred
Prior experience supervising tax professionals, required
Knowledge of corporate taxation, consolidations, and partnerships, preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and tax-related software and databases, preferred
Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
Executive presence and ability to build and maintain relationships with clients and colleagues

Salary and Benefits:

Salary range: $150,000 - $400,000
